Description

It is a variable edition print inspired by the phrase "home is where you hang your hat" It speaks to the idea that home isn't always a fixed place, it's something you carry with you; rooted by the small rituals and familiar objects you gather. Hats are a recurring motif in my work,they represent shelter, but also playfulness. The use of combs relate to self-expression and utility. 'Hat Dance Home' is a celebration as well as a recognition that you have enough; and you are enough.

Artist Bio

Salome Coker is a London-based painter and printmaker whose multidisciplinary work spans painting, illustration, and performance. Drawing from life in Lagos,Salvador de Bahia, and London, her art explores memory, emotion, and everyday moments. A former lawyer, she turned to art for creative release, developing a bold, reflective style rooted in personal and archival imagery. Trained in printmaking at the Art Academy, she works with screenprint, monoprint, and Japanese woodcut. Her recent series, The Long Way Home, reflects on loss and belonging using a muted palette and family photographs. Salome's work has shown in venues such as Mall Galleries and Gerald Moore Gallerv. She continues to create from her South London studio, exploring new directions in print and paint.
