Artist Bio

Cathy creates bold, abstract silkscreen prints from acrylic paint marks, oil pastel, charcoal pencil marks, her own photography, found images and text.

The elements have energy and appear random, time is spent manipulating the shapes digitally to create a balanced whole. The colours are intuitive, the intent is to harmonise.

Her current prints are concerned with life cycle, capturing sunflowers and butterflies before their inevitable demise.

Cathy’s love of silk screen printing came after studying advanced printmaking at City Lit.

Cathy produces her silk screen prints at Sonsoles print studio in Peckham and is also an associate member at East London Printmakers.
